Project Management

Project management is a simple yet powerful process. It provides a framework for setting goals, defining critical tasks, and tracking the progress of a project, be it large or small. Proper project management techniques enable you to complete projects on time and on budget.

Proper project management also enhances teamwork. People communicate more effectively and have a clearer understanding of their own and others’ responsibilities. In brief, project management saves time, lowers costs, decreases rework, and produces a better product or service.

At Cell Associates, we take a project management approach to all our work. Goals and objectives are set; progress is tracked, and results are measured. We can also introduce your staff to the general concepts of project planning and scheduling and can also introduce them to Microsoft® Project or other project management software programs.

The Process

bullet

Establish Goals and Objectives — Clearly define the project’s goals and objectives and verify that they appropriately address current market dynamics and business issues.

bullet

Identify Project Team Members — Work with managers and employees to identify members of a cross-functional project team. This team takes responsibility for getting “buy in” on the project as well as on individual tasks.

bullet

Outline Key Tasks and Responsibilities — The project team and extended team members build a list of major tasks to complete for each phase of the project.

bullet

Scheduling and Tracking— The project manager develops a schedule driven from team input to determine project timing and milestones.  This timeline sets the standard for performance, with progress measured on a weekly basis.
